Information for Vets

My aim at Metta is to work with you to support your clients by providing a multimodal/multidisciplinary approach for chronic pain and disease management.

No routine medical or surgical treatment will be provided so clients will remain in your clinics care for their standard veterinary and emergency needs. We will contact you prior to your clients appointment to request the clinical history and ask that you fill in an appointment request form which allows for continuity of care. Any recommendations regarding diet and medication will be redirected back to your practice and I keep in regular contact with you regarding your clients care.

The therapies I provide are carried out in a purposely designed clinic in Wye with longer appointment times to allow time to develop treatment plans specific to each pet.

I have a GPCert (SAM) and am currently undertaking a Certificate in Chronic Pain Management. I have additional training in Western Veterinary Acupuncture, Western Veterinary Herbal medicine, am a qualified Galen myotherapist and am a member of the British Veterinary Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Association. I am currently undertaking further advanced training with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society.

If you would like to have a chat about the therapies that I offer or if you have a case that you want to discuss, feel free to call.

Seeing your clients

I will email an appointment form to you or for your convenience a form can be downloaded using the button below. The form can be returned via email with any history, radiographs and laboratory results that you have available.
I will contact the client to arrange an appointment.

Follow up

I find email is the easiest way to keep referring vets updated with regards to treatment given, response and ongoing management plan. However, if you would like the full clinical notes sent over after each visit please let me know and my nurse will be happy to sort this out.

It may be appropriate to discuss with you possible changes of medication and diet that could be helpful plus how additional therapies such as physiotherapy and hydrotherapy may be beneficial to your patient. I am also happy to collaborate with the paraprofessionals used by your clinic.
